SOLID WASTE DIVISION INFORMATION

The Sanitation Division collects and disposes of solid waste for our customers here in Truth or Consequences. We have a fleet of trucks that regularly empty the poly carts and dumpsters located throughout the City.

Holiday Hours and closures

Monday September 7, 2020 The Recycle and Collection center will be closed in Observance of Labor Day. All Residential and Commercial trash routes will run as normal. 

Monday October 12, 2020 The Recycle and Collection center will be closed in Observance of Columbus Day. All Residential and Commercial trash routes will run as normal.

Wednesday November 11, 2020 The Recycle and Collection center will be closed in Observance of Veterans Day. All Residential and Commercial trash routes will run as normal.

Thursday November 26, 2020 The recycle and waste collection center will be closed for Thanksgiving Day.  No commercial or residential trash routes will be run.

Friday November 27, 2020 The Recycling and Waste collection center will be closed. We will be running Thursday and Friday trash routes both on Friday November 27, 2020

Thursday December 24, 2020 The Recycle and waste collection center will be closed but all residential and commercial trash routes will run as normal.  

 Customers that normally have their trash picked up on Friday will need to have their trash curbside by 6:30 AM on Thursday December 24, 2020

 Friday December 25, 2020 The Recycle and Waste collection Center will be closed for Christmas day as well as NO routes will be run.

 Friday January 1, 2021 The recycle and waste collection center will be closed. Commercial and residential trash routes will run as normal.

1) Operator reserves the right to refuse any load that is not in compliance with NMSWB Regulations 20.9.2.-20.9 NMAC 

2) No waste or trash shall be placed or dumped on roadway, arroyos, open fields, or at facility gates. Violators will be subject to:

  • Illegal Dumping Fines under State and Federal Regulation
  • City Fines under Illegal Dumping
  • Disposal and Clean up Fees
  • Etc.

3) Residents may use the recycling drop off yard at no charge. It is the residents' responsibility to dispose of excess waste at the Collection Center drop off floor.

4) All residents, contractors or visitors must stop at the scale house before entering this facility

THE FOLLOWING RULES AND RESTRICTIONS APPLY FOR ALL VISITORS TO THE FACILITY:
* Children and pets must remain in vehicles
* Smoking is prohibited in the Waste Collection Center 
* Credit / Debit Card payments not accepted
* Random Load Inspections 
* All Charges Are Subject to Gross Receipts Tax
* Unsecured or untarped Loads will be charged additional fees
  Prohibited Waste: 
* Burn Barrels or Ash Waste 
* Medical or Infectious Waste 
* Sludge Waste or Live Stock Manure 
* Dead Animals or Mortality Waste 
* Asbestos Pipes or Residues 
* Hazardous Waste or Special Waste

The Recycling Trailers are set at different locations throughout the city each week.

You may drop-off Cardboard (please flatten boxes), Newspaper, Mixed Paper, Plastics #1 & #2 (plastic bags included), Tin Cans, and Aluminum Cans.

Please separate and NO trash.

Monday - Friday from 9am - 1pm 
The trailer is at the Senior Citizen Meal Site by the City Library on 4th Street.

Monday - Friday from 9am - 1pm
The trailer is at the parking lot directly below CHF Thrift store.

The Recycling Trailer may also be used for special events. Contact us for further information if interested in one for an event you may have coming up.

601 Nadyne Court takes additional recyclable items such as Glass, E waste, Metal, Empty Refrigerators, Empty Freezers, AC Units.
