Community volunteer program for Healing Waters Trail repair

The Healing Waters Trail has suffered multiple damaged spots that require immediate attention due to the recent storm. The Parks Department, although very busy with repairing and maintaining our parks after the devastating effects of this last storm, would like to organize a community volunteer program to come together and help repair our popular and much-used trail system.

The program will begin on August 11th through September 3rd and we envision working 2 days a week for a period of one month (EVERY Tuesday and Thursday) starting from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We will assemble at Rotary Park shelters on the days and times indicated where the community will find a Parks and Recreation team member who will facilitate and direct the Month long repair program.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring tools and supplies as well as food and water.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact City Parks Manager, OJ Hechler at (575) 740-0988.

It is times like these we can come together to accomplish great things and keep our recreational areas safe and beautiful for all to enjoy.
