The City Commission serves as the governing body of Truth or Consequences, overseeing municipal policies, ordinances, and strategic initiatives to support the community’s growth and well-being. Comprised of five elected members, the Commission is responsible for legislative decision-making, budget approvals, and ensuring city operations align with local, state, and federal regulations.
The Commission meets at 9 a.m. on the second Wednesday and at 4 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Commission Chambers at 405 West Third Street. Special meetings and workshops are scheduled as needed to address key issues and engage with residents. Commissioners work closely with city departments to guide infrastructure improvements, economic development, and public services that enhance the quality of life for all.
Current commissioners include Mayor Rolf Hechler, Mayor Pro-Tem Amanda Forrister, and Commissioners Destiny Mitchell, Ingo Hoeppner, and Merry Jo Fahl. Each member plays a vital role in shaping policies that reflect the needs and priorities of the community. Residents are encouraged to participate in meetings, share feedback, and stay informed about city initiatives.
