PSA - Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery

Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery

It’s almost that time of year again, and the Parks Department is asking for assistance when mowing season starts. The City is announcing that starting April 14th, all artificial flowers, solar lights, crosses, and other objects that interfere with mowing and weed eating, including around headstones, will be removed.  Citizens are encouraged to remove all items they wish to keep before this date, or the items will be discarded.

Over the winter months, the City allows more leniency for these items. Keeping the cemetery groomed, including around headstones, is the City’s priority.  Please do your part in supporting a well-maintained cemetery and be mindful that once the mowing season starts, mowing will continue every two weeks and the City will be removing all items once per month.

Below is the relevant Section of the Municipal Code pertaining to the cemetery:

ARTICLE V. - VISTA MEMORY GARDENS CEMETERY

Sec. 9-53. - Use of lots.

(f)The City reserves the right to remove flowers and flower holders as soon as the flowers wither without liability for their safekeeping.

(i)Decorations, flowers, and other objects that interfere with cemetery maintenance will be removed by cemetery personnel without liability for their safekeeping.

Starting April 14th, and once per month thereafter, all items will be removed for mowing throughout the mowing season.

Thank you all for your support and understanding.
