How many animals can a person own in the City?
Within the City of Truth or Consequences, a person cannot harbor or possess more than four dogs or cats three months of age or older in any combination for more than thirty days in a calendar year without a Multi-Animal Site or Kennel Permit and no more than seven animals with a Multi-Animal Site or Kennel Permit. See Sec. 3-8.1.
What can I do about a barking dog?
It is the responsibility of an owner or caretaker of an animal to ensure it is not disturbing the peace by creating noise common to its species (barking, howling, crowing, etc.) If an animal is creating a nuisance, you can contact Central Dispatch at (575) 894-7111 or fill out our online report form at any time. See Sec. 3-95.
